LHD Scoop Training

The Load Haul Dump (LHD) operator will be a part of the development and production mining team, moving ore and waste from development and production areas of the mine, either loading onto trucks or into orepasses or remuck areas. LHD operators will operate the LHD manually and remotely depending on circumstances.

 

An LHD is a mid-sized (up to 60 Tonnes) underground mining vehicle that loads, hauls and dumps (hence its name) metalliferous ore from an open stope (where there is broken rock) to a crusher or waiting truck to be transported to the surface.
